About the concert
On November 27th at 8:00 PM, the Sonar Quartett invites you to an extraordinary concert evening on the 5th floor of the Kühlhaus Berlin. At the heart of the program is "Black Angels" by George Crumb, the most renowned string quartet of modern times. This piece, composed as a lament for the Vietnam War, explores the theme of combat helicopters, which Crumb musically portrays as "electric insects."
In addition to Crumb’s work, the audience can look forward to a diverse program featuring compositions by Hildegard von Bingen, Björk, John Cage, Radiohead, and Olivier Messiaen. The evening concludes with an improvisation around Samuel Barber's "Adagio for Strings."
